Juniper is an ancient wood used in cleansing, guidance and casting out negative energy. 

Though burning juniper gives off only minimal visible smoke, this smoke is highly aromatic. In ancient times people used it for the ritual purification of temples and homes to ward of the effects of curses and bad luck.
